• First , you need to be equipped with the basic tools
Tuning lever
Tuning fork or a electronic device that covers all the octaves
Flat Temperament strip &
Some tuning wedges (nylon wedges, rubber meters or felt meters)
• Check if the piano is technically fit for a tuning
If the Action is worn-out a lot
If there are missing strings, rusted strings
If the soundboard / bridges has developed any cracks
If the tuning pin block is loose
If the Action is regulated so bad that it do not have enough power to produce good solid tones
• Then check on the pitch that the piano can be tuned to. Moreover it is important to consider tuning the piano to A440 (standard pitch/Concert pitch)
